High School/Junior High Information - Back to Top

Parents and Students,

We hope that you are all doing well and staying healthy! As you know the Governor extended our school closure and Illinois State Board of Education has opted into a transition for Remote Learning Days beginning Friday, April 3rd. Here’s what you need to know about our Remote Learning Plan:

  • Students are responsible for checking their email, TeacherEase and Google Classrooms daily during Remote Learning days. We have also provided a distribution opportunity for families to pick up hard copies of their school work. However, it will be the students/parents responsibilitiy to submit those assignments online in some form or another. (ex: take a picture and email them directly to your teacher) Teachers will provide guidelines on a time frame for items to be completed and we simply asked that you do your best to meet guidelines when possible.

  • Teachers will be available to answer questions via email from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm during scheduled school attendance days (they will have access to email at other times but it may take longer to respond). Virutal meetings to provide additional assistance to students will be done via a variety of platforms such as Zoom or Google Hangouts if possible. (We will need updated email addresses to send the appropriate links for accessing these meetings)

  • Students are responsible for advocating for themselves should they have any questions by contacting their teachers directly. If at any point you are unable to reach a teacher please email me at bkoontz@mgschools.com or call the office and leave a message and I will get back to you.

  • Students with IEPs will continue to receive adequate accommodations, modifications and support. Students should expect to have “check-ins” from their case managers on a regular basis in addition to their other teachers. Please contact your (child’s) case manager or myself with any further questions.
We will continue to send information out directly to parents, students and staff as it becomes available. For many of your questions, we are simply waiting on guidance from the Governor and Illinois State Board of Education. We are already having conversations about graduations, summer school and other things of that nature and are hopeful that we will receive more information from officials very soon. At this point we will be postponing prom until we are provided further guidance. Additionally, per ISBE guidance all state-mandated testing has been suspended for the 19-20 school year including PSAT/SAT and ISA. College Board is looking at the possibility of all current juniors taking the SAT for free in the fall of 2020.

Please do not hesitate to contact me via email at bkoontz@mgschools.com or by phone at 618-326-8221 ext. 200 should you have any questions. Please note that I will not be in the office daily so voicemails received may take a few days time to respond to. If you have an immediate need, email communication is best.

Below we have our video conferencing schedule as well as a few links from specific teachers.

Stay Healthy Mulberry Grove Families!

Respectfully,

Mr. Koontz

Elementary Information - Back to Top

Parents and Students,

We hope that you are all doing well and staying healthy! As you know the Governor extended our school closure and Illinois State Board of Education has opted into a transition for Remote Learning Days beginning Friday, April 3rd. Please keep in mind that educators across the state are embarking on an educational situation that is unprecedented and that our teachers are learning alongside our students.

Here’s what you need to know about our Remote Learning Plan:

  • Students are responsible for checking their email, Google Classrooms, class dojo, and Seesaw daily during Remote Learning days. We will also have distribution opportunities for hard copies to students who do not have online access. However, it will be the students/parents responsibility to submit those assignments online in some form or another. (ex: take a picture and email them directly to your teacher) Please have all work ‘turned’ into teachers by May 1.

  • Teachers have been working on ways to provide the best possible instruction for students both online and through take home packets. Teachers will be available to answer questions via email from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm during scheduled school attendance days (will have access to email at other times but it may take longer to respond). Virtual meetings to provide additional assistance to students will be done via a variety of platforms such as Zoom or Google Hangouts if possible. (We will need updated email addresses for all families) Students are responsible for advocating for themselves should they have any questions by contacting their teachers directly. If at any point that you are unable to reach a teacher please email me at cbowman@mgschools.com or call the office and leave a message and I will get back to you.

  • Students with IEPs will continue to receive adequate accommodations, modifications and support. Students should expect to have “check-ins” from Ms.Gunn on a regular basis in addition to their other teachers. Please contact Ms. Gunn or myself with any further questions.

I will continue to send information out directly to parents, students and staff as it becomes available. For many of your questions, we are simply waiting on guidance from the Governor and Illinois State Board of Education. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email at cbowman@mgschools.com or by phone at 618-326-8811 should you have any questions. Please note that I will not be in the office daily so voicemails received may take a few days time to respond to. If you have an immediate need, email communication is best.

Stay Healthy Mulberry Grove Families!

Respectfully,

Mrs. Bowman

Elementary parents: please consider muting your microphones on these video calls when your student isn't talking. The students are very excited to see their friends and it can get very chaotic!
